Originally, the Chevy Corvair was introduced as an affordable compact car to compete in the 1960’s sales market with the Volkswagen Beetle. Having the distinct pleasure of being the only American-designed, mass-produced passenger car with rear-mounted and air-cooled engine, the Corvair was unique. During the 1961 model year, Chevrolet introduced a station wagon version giving an amazing amount of floor space and trunk space to an emerging customer base. In the RC world of crawling machines, nothing has come close to the vibes the Corvair puts off.

The 1978 Chevy K10 is the latest body to be added to a JConcepts line-up of bodies designed for more competition based crawling needs. Designed by JConcepts, the Tucked body layout creates more tire space, less overhang while still giving a strong and loyal Chevrolet presence. The 1978 styling represented the 3rd generation of trucks from General Motors, and even though they are known today as “square body trucks,” it was originally designated as the “rounded line.”

The Warlord has tucked front and rear fenders to allow clearance for an assortment of tire options while also giving the body shell a very competition inspired look. The new body combines elements from vintage vehicles while carrying some new ruggedness and attitude which JConcepts can provide. In addition, the Warlord includes a roof visor which can be installed separately to give the roof a top and windshield overhang if the user visualizes it this way.
The JConcepts philosophy on a tucked body is to make it look like a truck, add allowances for increased articulation, minimal overhang and to accommodate competition sized tires. The single cab body brings back the memories of bench seating, lap seat beats, with AM/FM radio turned up to the max. Build, drive, tweak, and repeat. This is a common practice in the scale world of RC trucks when drivers are searching for the elusive perfect crawling machine. JConcepts has updated and recreated one of the classics in the line-up by re-introducing the Stage Killah body. The sharply tuned shell wraps the chassis of competition trucks like the Axial SCX Pro and other competition crawlers like a glove. The low-slung shell, with gentle shaping provides a front and rear tucked concept with cab and bed area for the truck minded competitor.
The Stage Killah has large format recessed windows front, side, and a small extra cab viewing area. The outer geometry of the body is lined with a flange to improve the durability of the flat panel areas of the item. The bed area of the body has smoothly rolled corners, small recess for included fan decals to drop in and a JC logo bossed on the center for authenticity. The front hood scoop is a small step offset of the pitched front-end to give definition to the design.
